What I always found fascinating was how subtly this admin leaked the information that Laura Bush killed her friend as teenager, when she ran a stop sign.

From Wikipedia; "In 1963 Laura Welch (Bush) was involved in a car accident when she ran a stop sign and crashed into another car, killing a friend and classmate, Michael Dutton Douglas, who was driving the other car. According to the two-page accident report released by the city of Midland, neither driver was drinking, and no charges were filed.[3]"

Explains a bit about avoiding the spotlight, but doesn't justify her complete uselessness.
